Some of the roads in the Brydon neighbourhood are in rough shape, especially 55A Avenue and the north section of 198 Street. Earlier this year, Council approved a $2.3 million storm sewer renewal project on 198 St between 55A Ave and 54 Ave. This section of road will be repaved once the storm sewer project is completed.
Last night, Council approved a $508,533 tender to GB Paving Ltd. to repave several sections of road in our community, including 55A Avenue between 200th Street and the Surrey border.
As part of the same tender, they will repave a section of Fraser Highway, near 203rd Street, and a section of Douglas Crescent near 208th Street.

Sometimes a "rough stretch of road", if in the "right" location, CAN be a blessing to a neighbourhood. Naturally occuring speed bumps, inexpensive too (saving re-paving expense). And some expensive speed bumps create annoying noise as cars race from bump to bump. Just a thought.......✌️
When doing the repaving…. Which is mostly resulted from developers and as I told you a year or so ago, this should not be funded by tax payers and the developers should be funding the repaving.
Why would you replace it just before the next development starts on the corner near 200th and 198th. Shouldn’t we wait till after those developers tear up the road? Developers never do a proper patch job after
1…. Add back the sewer drain that was removed from the new condo development that extended their driveway and sidewalk as it causes 55a to flood every rain fall.
2. Add 4 way stop at 55a/Brydon crescent. Make 198/55a also a 4 way stop. This will slow traffic down and make it safer to turn onto 55a.
3. It would have been great to the city respond to my emails with this information instead of sending an email stating the work has been completed when the road still floods every rainfall. 🤦♀️
Well said! Thanks for posting and noticing things thru out the years. There needs to be more accountability.
