It would have been nice to have someone there to present actual facts and then let people decide for themselves.

Eric has been very open and available to anyone who wants to discuss the project and get the facts, whether they support him or not, which I think has been noted and appreciated in the community.

Shelly Rochehttp://twitter.com/shellyrochenoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3299108886803608881.post-72420924890115481102012-10-13T10:24:39.018-07:002012-10-13T10:24:39.018-07:00We had our suspicions about this “public meeting” ...We had our suspicions about this “public meeting” but went anyway.
We…like many others left at the first opportunity insulted and outraged.

We went there expecting a “meeting”… a chance to have our say.
We practiced due diligence beforehand but were unable to find out who was really behind this meeting.
We showed up early to ask questions about the modus operandi and/or agenda of the meeting
We found drawings of “proposed developments”.

The greeter didn’t identify himself and couldn’t tell us who the speakers were ahead of time.
The greeter wouldn’t say who was paying these “speakers”.
They handed out pamphlets from a pseudo “community association” sponsoring the pseudo “public meeting”.
They said that they were made up of “elected board members”.
They said we would be allowed to ask questions from the floor (the sound guy said he had a traveling mike)

Turns out it wasn’t a public meeting at all.
Turns out they elected each other at a private meeting.
Turns out it was a public live infomercial con job.
Turns out only “written and submitted” questions will be addressed.
Turns out all questions were destroyed if they weren’t pro plastic developments.
Turns out it was a also a huge public insult to the intelligence of the community.

Robert Inwood’s powerpoint presentation was obvious flogging his services as a developer.
It was a public job interview…a display of his portfolio. A sell job.

He hadn’t even been to Fort Langley in decades. He showed slide after slide of his “success stories”. … family members from the town of Kaslo (one of his success stories) were actually present and had some very insightful remarks and questions about what he did in their town …questions that they submitted but, of course, those questions were not allowed public forum.

The other two speakers were insulting. One wasn’t even old enough to shave let alone “advise” anyone and the other was a professional crowd pleaser local political funnyman. Charming but shallow to the concerns of the hundreds that showed up.

Only one person was glaringly absent. Didn’t dare to show his face.
downwindtrackerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00464566458978227701noreply@blogger.com
